The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the works of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. 2 Thessalonians 2:9 & 10
It was on my heart to continue talking about deception again this week. If you haven’t read last weeks blog Watch Out! and watched the video of the deceptive spirits infiltrating the church around the world, I highly recommend you do so – and share it with your communities.
In 2 Thessalonians 2:7 we are told:
For the secret power of the lawless one is already at work.
In 1 John 2:18 we are warned:
Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.
I am concerned that many who are going to church, are not paying close enough attention to the things that are going on. They just want the next spiritual “experience”. Jesus himself warns us, even the elect could be deceived! We need to take this seriously.
Don’t believe the lie!
We are warned that evil deceives those who are perishing. And why are they perishing? Because they refuse to love the truth! Even those who call themselves Christians.
Do you love the truth?
- God’s Word is the only truth.
- God’s ways are the only truth.
- Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4:3 &4
Are you seeking first the Kingdom of God? Are your eyes fixed on Jesus? Are you seeking wisdom and understanding from God’s Word alone. Are you praying for discernment? Do you truly fear the Lord above all else? Where is your heart? And remember . . .
The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 1 Timothy 4:1
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1
