My Rock and My Salvation

Find rest, O my soul in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock; my refuge. Psalm 62:6& 7

Where do you find rest for your soul?

If you’re searching for rest and hope in your life, I can assure you, you will find it in God alone. There is no one else in this world that will give you rest for your soul. God alone must be your rock, your fortress – and in him alone you must depend – then and only then will you not be shaken.

Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. Psalm 146:3 & 4

So many people today trust in the pastors or teachers who lead them. They rely wholly on what they say and what they teach, without ever opening a Bible for themselves to see what God has to say. Trusting in men alone can be dangerous to your salvation. God does not want us to trust in men – men who cannot save you!

In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. Psalm 31:1-3

God wants to be your rock, your fortress, your shelter, your refuge. He wants you to trust in him alone. He wants to lead, guide and teach you by his Word and by his Holy Spirit.

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:24 &25

Do you have your foundation on the Rock?

Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be my God, the Rock, my Savior! 2 Samuel 22:47

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

May the words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior! Psalm 18:46
