The Grace of God

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Titus 2:11-14

Isn’t it amazing that Jesus loved us so much that he would die for us? The grace of God (undeserved favor) offers salvation to ALL people. No one is excluded. Everyone on earth has the opportunity to be saved! But it is up to each person to choose the grace of God, and receive it for themselves. No one else can choose it for them.

The Word of God teaches you how to live godly lives.

It teaches you only IF you read, study, and put the Word into practice in your daily life. Then and only then can you truly live a godly life!

Are you obedient to the commands of God?

Jesus gave his very life on the cross, suffering and dying for you, and for me. He did it to redeem us from all the wickedness in the world. He wants to purify for himself a people that are his very own. People who are eager to do what is good. Jesus wants us to walk this earth as a true reflection of who he is – how else will the lost be drawn to him? How will they ever come to know him?

… the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. 2 Peter 3:10-13

Let’s work together in our communities, and in our individual lives to strive each day to obey God’s Word. Let’s be people who say no to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ!

But do not forget this one thing my dear friends. . .

With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2Peter 3:8-9
