We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. . . . if it is to lead, do it diligently. . . Romans 12:6a, 8c
The Word teaches us that, it is Christ himself who gives us the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13
The Word does not say, go to seminary, become a pastor, start and lead a church in a building, does it?
If we were duplicating the New Testament church; if we were truly walking as Jesus walked – the church of today would look a whole lot different, don’t you think? It appears in most cases the traditional church model of today does little to equip God’s people for works of service. And where is the unity in the faith? Where are the mature? Are believers attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ?
It’s time to look at the church and leadership differently!
Please take the time to watch this excellent video entitled Upside Down Leadership. Let us, as believers, start a new conversation about what church should look like. Let each of us have a heart to be the church, not just go to church.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:6-8
Let God use your talents and gifts for his glory and purpose! Together we are the church, no matter where we meet and fellowship.
