God Understands All Hearts

Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die; save them as they stagger to their death. Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve. Proverbs 24:11-12 (NLT)

Nothing is hidden from God.  He sees you and knows your heart – He created you! He knows your heartaches, struggles and concerns – and He desperately desires to care for you! He forgives you when you make mistakes, if you ask. He is a gracious and compassionate God, full of mercy.

God also knows your heart when it’s not right. When you choose to willfully sin against His word and His ways.  When you choose your will, over His will. When you are disobedient to the things you know are right.

If you are a Christian, a true follower of Jesus, you are “called”.

The entire body of Christ (the church) is called to bring the good news, the gospel of Jesus, to those who do not know Him. These are those sentenced to die, staggering towards death.  Believers in Jesus are called to rescue the lost and dying from the kingdom of darkness and invite them to cross over to the kingdom of light and truth. We are called to invite them to know and understand the love of God.

How will they know if we do not tell them? What if no one had told you? You would be destined to hell, without God, for all eternity – and eternity is forever and ever and ever.

We must rescue the dying with the good news of God’s love.  We must rescue the dying and those staggering towards death by showing them God’s love in our life – not just preaching at them. They must see God’s love in us.  A love for the lost and dying must be your heart – for this is God’s heart.  And the message is simple:

believe-in-jesus For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18

Our heart’s desire as followers of Jesus should be to love Jesus so much that we will be obedient to the desires of His heart – which  is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself.  Do your neighbors, friends, co-workers and family members know Jesus as their Savior and their Lord?  You may be their only hope of rescue.  Did you ever think of that?

Romans 14:12:

Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.

One day we will all stand before God and give account of our lives. If asked on that day if you rescued those who are unjustly sentenced to die, and saved them as they stagger to their death – will you say . . . “Look, I didn’t know?”

You are saved by grace. You cannot earn salvation.  But God is looking for those good and faithful servants who will share the good news with those lost and dying souls who are staggering toward eternal death in hell.  God wants all men to be saved – shouldn’t we too?

Remember, God understands all hearts, and he sees you! He who guards your soul knows you knew.  He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Psalm 96:2

Will you share the good news with someone today?
